Well, we are now a week into the new year and rather quickly it went by too. So, what have you done this week? What have I done this week??? Have all my New Year intentions just slipped by the wayside or have I been productive?
A funny thing happened when I was updating my Portuguese Language Blog. I was going through some videos that I had recorded last year and I noticed that I had recorded them all with the first week of the New Year.
So you can see where I am going with this?
I was productive my first week and then I slacked off. So I asked myself, 'do I want to do the same this year?' The answer to which would be no, I don't.
I have been doing a lot of artwork and have a map of Israel to finish, the Algarve one is now done. I have updated my Language Blog (also last weekend) and need to do some more of that today, not tomorrow.

It is funny how we do actually do tend to put things off until tomorrow, thinking that by some miracle, tomorrow will have more hours than today and, if we are not careful, we can let that time slip away and we will never get it back. Tomorrow is always tomorrow, we only really have today. Even yesterday has gone. It is said that to be productive, ideally, we should identify three outcomes we want to achieve for the year, then three for the week, and another three for the day. Three a day is quite a lot. My mother-in-law used to impress me a by her discipline. She would divide tasks up throughout the day, not over doing any one of them. By the end of the week she had cut enough fire wood for a month (she cut down a whole tree!), picked all her carob beans, baked her bread, crocheted an amazing doily, done any minor repairs about the house, tended to her garden and a number of other things.
The only thing I really have to do today is walk some dogs. My son usually does this, but he is working extra hours today so I am doing it for him. I did it yesterday and that was a first for me. Walking two medium size dogs at the same time, didn't seem to bad until I crossed the road with them and I picked up my pace a little (I wouldn't really call it running) and that was enough to excite them beyond their limits. Emma started jumping on Sam's head and all hell broke loose. Sam slipped out of his colar and ran off, I called him back but every time he came Emma jumped on his head. She thought it was great fun. I eventually got her to sit, called Sam back and managed to slip his colar on again, heart racing, I got them both home safe and sound. Today I am going to walk them very slowly, with no running.
So what do I need to do today apart from that. Well I need to make some videos and do some more artwork for a start! Might bake a cake...or not.
